Melissa Peñate started Peñate Consulting in 2022 with nearly 10 years of purchasing & procurement, grant writing, government and business operations and local government experience. Prior to this, Melissa served as the City Clerk for the City of Lilburn, Georgia. Her work as a City Clerk combined with her attention to detail, critical thinking, leadership, and expertise add value to every organization she works with.
Melissa is a first-generation graduate from Georgia Gwinnett College, where she earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing, as well as a Master of Public Administration from Liberty University. She has also completed professional training courses and earned her Certified Municipal Clerk designation through the University of Georgia Carl Vinson Institute, Georgia Clerks Institute (GCI), and the International Institute of Municipal Clerk (IIMC).
Melissa has served as the Social Media & Marketing Committee chair for the Georgia Municipal Clerks Association, and currently serves as the Secretary for the Georgia Gwinnett College Alumni Board and as a board member on the True Change Board.
